Your new favorite potluck side dish! Loaded with bacon and beef in a sweet and tangy sauce, these Cowboy Baked Beans are a quick and easy crowd-pleasing addition to any summer cookout. The beans can be prepared in the oven or in the slow cooker, for a simple solution that comes together with just 15 minutes of prep!

½ lb. ground beef
6 slices uncooked bacon, diced
¾ cup diced onion
2 cans pork & beans (15 ounces each)
¾ cup ketchup
¾ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown ground beef and bacon in the skillet until no longer pink. Drain.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 1 ½-quart baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, stir together cooked beef and cooked bacon with the remaining ingredients.
  • Pour mixture into prepared casserole dish.
  • Bake, uncovered, for about 40 minutes (or until hot and bubbly and sauce has thickened).

This is our family's favorite, its a Semi Home made dish but goes over So well, Its requested Often, with Never any leftovers. We enjoyed these with our BBQ Steaks and Burgers for our Mothers day family gathering. Feel free to "Double" this recipe to serve a larger Crowd.

FAMILY BAKED BEANS GREAT FOR GATHERINGS & POTLUCKS
2or 3 large family cans bushes country style baked beans (only use thick & rich country style)
1 large onion sliced and chopped
1/2 lb bacon, sliced, browned, & drained
1/4 Cup molassas
1/2 Cup brown sugar
1 tsp dry colemans mustard ( optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Open cans, pour into Crock Pot or Large Sauce Pan. Slice and Chop onions, Cut bacon into small pieces to fry. fry onion with Bacon together drain on paper towels (add no grease to these beans) add to Beans
  • 2. Add all the remaining Ingredients. Stir well. Cook covered on high in crock pot about 2 hrs. til onions are cooked. Note: If Using "sauce pan", Simmer about 2 Hrs, on med-Low. Being careful to watch your pan and stir Often.
  • 3. Serve Hot right from the Crock Pot. Guarranteed Yummmiest Baked Beans. Recipe can easily be Doubled., for a larger batch. TIP: I DO NOT USE ANY OTHER BUSHES BAKED BEANS, as they are tooo Runny and it will not turn out the same!

1 pound bacon
1 large sweet onion, such as Vidalia, finely chopped
Four 14-ounce cans pork and beans
1/2 cup dark molasses
1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Fry the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crisp. Remove the bacon from the pan, leaving the drippings, and drain it on paper towels. Crumble and set aside.
  • Add the onion to the pan with the bacon drippings and saute until softened, a couple minutes. Stir in the beans, molasses, brown sugar, mustard and crumbled bacon, and mix well.
  • Pour the beans into a 3-quart casserole and bake, uncovered, for about 45 minutes.

Whenever I need a large pot of baked beans for a church pot luck or family dinner, this recipe fits the bill. They're so easy to do and you can make them a day ahead, they're even better the next day!

1 can(s) bush's original baked beans, 117 ounce size, drained
1 pkg bacon, 12 to 16 ounce size
1 large onion, peeled and minced
1/3 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c ketchup
2 Tbsp mustard
2 Tbsp molasses

Steps:

  • 1. Drain beans well and place in crock pot. Add minced onion and set aside.
  • 2. Cut bacon into pieces and fry until crisp. Remove from grease and drain on paper towel. Add to beans. Add remaining ingredients and gently stir to mix well.
  • 3. Turn crock pot on low and simmer for 3 to 4 hours until desired consistency.

3 (14 3/4 ounce) cans pork and beans
1 small onion, diced
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup barbecue sauce
1 cup corn flakes, crushed
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup ketchup
4 slices bacon or 4 slices turkey bacon

Steps:

  • Fry your bacon until crispy. Drain all but 2 teaspoons grease. Crumble bacon.
  • Saute your diced onion in bacon,and 2 ts. drippings.Add into a med-large crockpot on low/med along with the remaining ingredients. Cook atleast 2-3 hours Be sure to check and stir,depending on your crockpot.
  • Serve warm.
