My dad and my husband, both love oysters. I can eat them if I don't think about how they look. Anyeay, this is my dads recipe.

Steps:
- Saute green onions in butter in a Dutch oven until onions are tender. Add remaining ingredients to onion mixture. cook over low heat until edges of oysers begin to curl and mixture is hot, but not boiling. Serve with oyster crackers.

- In a saucepan, bring the salsify and water to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until tender but not mushy.
- Stir in cream, butter, salt and pepper.
- Cook and stir for 4 minutes or until butter is melted and cream is heated through.

Add oysters reduce heat to low and cook until edges curl. Stir in heavy cream heat through (do not boil).3. To serve, sprinkle with paprika.
