CREAMY LIMONCELLO
A delicious lemony treat without the bite of regular limoncello. This makes great Christmas gifts!

Steps:
- Combine lemon zest and vodka in an airtight container. Cover and place in a cool, dark space, shaking the container to redistribute the lemon zest once a day for 5 days.
- Pour milk and sugar into a large pot and bringing to a low boil, stirring often, until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and allow milk mixture to cool to room temperature. Slowly strain vodka mixture into the milk using a sieve. Discard the lemon zest. Pour limoncello into a capped bottle and place in the freezer to chill for 1 hour. Serve cold.

NIGELLA'S BLACKBERRY TRIFLE WITH CREAMY LIMONCELLO MASCARPONE
Serve this spectacular layered dessert in a trifle dish or individual dessert glasses for a memorable and refreshing ending to any meal! Perfect for Valentine's Day or other romantic occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries or Afternoon tea. Inspired by a Nigella Lawson recipe.

Steps:
- Split the lady fingers and make little sandwiches of them using more than half of the jam, then press them into a 2-quart size glass bowl.
- Crumble the amaretti cookies and scatter most of them evenly over the lady fingers, reserving a bit for the topping, and then pour a generous 1/2 cup limoncello over them.
- In a medium bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons limoncello with the remaining currant jam. Add the blackberries, stirring gently to coat.
- Spoon the blackberries over the crumbled cookies.
- Whisk together the remaining limoncello with the sugar and mascarpone until light and fluffy. Spread gently and evenly over the blackberries in the bowl.
- In a small bowl, toss together the remaining amaretti crumbs with the toasted slivered almonds, then sprinkle over the surface of the trifle.
- Spoon into dessert glasses to serve.
CREAMY LIMONCELLO
Smoother and creamier version of the standard limoncello. This recipe comes from Gourmet. This needs to stay chilled and will keep for one month.. Make sure to note the prep time. This needs to sit for 4 days and needs to chill for a couple of hours before being served.

Steps:
- Remove the zest from the lemons with a vegetable peeler (about 5 strips per lemon). The fruit can be put aside for another use. Make sure to scrape off any white pith from the zest.
- Soak zest in vodka for 4 days (room temperature).
- Strain vodka through a fine-meshed sieve, discarding the zest. Transfer vodka to a glass bottle (preferably 2 quart).
- Simmer milk and sugar over medium low heat, uncovered, until reduced to about 4 cups. Should be about 25-30 minutes.
- Skim off any foam.
- Cool sweetened milk completely and then add to vodka.
- Chill at least 2 hours.
- Shake well before serving.

- Remove zest from lemons with a vegetable peeler (about 5 strips per lemon), reserving fruit for another use. Scrape any white pith from zest strips, then soak zest in vodka at room temperature 4 days.
- Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a liquid measuring cup, discarding zest, then transfer vodka to a glass bottle (preferably 2 quart).
- Simmer milk and sugar in a heavy medium saucepan, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until reduced to about 4 cups, 25 to 30 minutes. (Skim off any foam.) Cool completely, then add to vodka. Chill until cold, at least 2 hours.
