4 -6 boneless skinless chicken breasts, halved
1 (1 1/4 ounce) envelope dried Italian salad dressing mix
2 ounces water
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can reduced-sodium cream of chicken soup, undiluted (or regular soup)
1 (4 ounce) can mushroom stems and pieces, drained
hot cooked rice or pasta

Steps:

  • Place the chicken breast halves in the crock pot.
  • Combine the Italian dressing mix and water until smooth; pour over top of chicken.
  • Cover and cook on low for 3 hours.
  • Combine the cream cheese and soup until smooth and blended.
  • Stir in mushroom pieces.
  • Pour soup mixture over chicken.
  • Cook 1 hour more or until chicken is cooked through.
  • Serve over hot cooked rice or pasta.

My mom found this recipe in Taste of Home's New Slow-Cooker cookbook. Our family LOVED IT. She shared it with several people at our school who also said their families devoured it. Good for a Sunday morning meal!

4 boneless chicken breasts
1 (8 ounce) envelope Italian salad dressing mix
1/4 cup water
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
1 (4 ounce) can mushroom stems and pieces, drained (optional)

Steps:

  • Place chicken in slow cooker.
  • Combine salad dressing mix and water; pour over chicken.
  • Cover and cook on low for 3 hours.
  • In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and soup until blended.
  • Stir in mushrooms, pour over chicken, and cook 1 hours longer or until chicken juices run clear.

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 (1 ounce) envelope dried Italian salad dressing mix
1/4 cup water
8 ounces cream cheese
3/4 lb cremini mushroom, halved
parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Place chicken breasts and mushrooms in crock pot.
  • Mix together the Italian Salad Dressing mix and water.
  • Pour over chicken and cover crock pot.
  • Cook on low for 3 hours.
  • Meanwhile set out cream cheese-I like to cube it while it's cold.
  • When 3 hours is up, remove chicken and mushrooms with a slotted spoon.
  • Whisk the cream cheese with the liquid in crock pot.
  • When well incorporated, return chicken and mushrooms to crock pot and cover.
  • Cook for 1 1/2 hours on low.
  • Plate and shred fresh Parmesan to taste.
  • Serve.

This is so easy, it's almost embarassing posting it. Perhaps a version is already here, but this is how we do it. Try the chicken with homemade dumplings, like my daughter begs for, but DO make the dumplings separately in a steamer or separate pan, or it will take longer than an "easy-peasy" recipe calls for!

4 -6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1 (8 ounce) bottle Italian dressing (I use Kraft Free Zesty)
1 (8 ounce) package low-fat cream cheese (Neufchatel is what I use)

Steps:

  • Place chicken in crock pot. It may be frozen if the chicken is the smaller, split and trimmed type of boneless breast.
  • Cube the entire block of cream cheese and place evenly over the chicken.
  • Pour the Italian dressing over the chicken and cheese, making sure to get some dressing on each part of the chicken.
  • Cook on med-low, 6-8 hours.
  • Before serving, stir gently to combine juices, dressing and cheese thoroughly to use as sauce. Serve with pasta or rice, or dumplings as above.

1/4 c water
1 pkg dry italian dressing mix
8 oz cream cheese
2 can(s) cream of chicken soup
rice, prepared

Steps:

  • 1. Lay first 5 ingredients into crock pot. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hrs. Serve over prepared rice.
  • 2. *I add my chicken frozen just b/c of timing. I do heat up the cream cheese and mix it w/ the soups just so it's not 'chunky' :)
