These cherry cake bars are super easy to make. They are wonderful for dessert or with a cup of coffee in the morning.

1 15.25 ounce box Pillsbury yellow cake mix (could use white cake mix)
1/4 cup butter or 4 tablespoons (melted)
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 20 ounce can cherry pie filling
1 cup coconut
1 cup nuts ((walnuts or pecans))
Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
3 to 4 tablespoons milk

Steps:

  • Mix the dry cake mix with the 4 tablespoons melted butter, milk, eggs and vanilla extract using a mixer. Spray a 10 x 15 jelly roll pan with cooking spray. (You can line pan with foil and then spray or do it without the foil) Spread the cake mix over the bottom of the pan
  • Drop the cherry pie filling by teaspoons on top of the cake mix. Sprinkle on the coconut and nuts. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool. Drizzle on powdered sugar glaze

A deliciously soft and flavorful dessert, these Cherry Chocolate Chip Bars are filled with maraschino cherries, chocolate chips and frosted with a creamy cherry buttercream!

2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
⅔ cup butter (softened)
1 cup milk
3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon almond extract
5 large egg whites
1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup maraschino cherries (dried and quartered)
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup butter (softened)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon maraschino cherry juice
1 Tablespoon milk

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • With a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat all bar ingredients, besides cherries, chocolate chips, and egg whites. Start on low scraping sides as needed, turn to medium once ingredients are combined and beat for two minutes.
  • Add egg whites and beat again on medium for two minutes.
  • Stir in cherries and chocolate chips.
  • Pour into greased pan and bake for 40-45 minutes, until the toothpick comes out clean in the center. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
  • To make frosting, beat all ingredients together with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  • Spread frosting onto cooled bars. Sprinkle with additional chocolate chips desired. Enjoy!

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
1 container Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy cherry frosting

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 325°F. In large bowl, beat dry cake mix and butter with electric mixer on low speed until crumbly; reserve 1 cup. In bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch pan, press remaining crumbly mixture.
  • In same bowl, beat cream cheese and frosting with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Beat in eggs until blended. Pour over crust; sprinkle with reserved crumbly mixture.
  • Bake about 45 minutes (about 42 minutes for dark or nonstick pan) or until set; cool completely. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours until chilled. For bars, cut into 6 rows by 6 rows. Store covered in refrigerator.

1 box(es) lrg. chocolate pudding,not instant
3 cup(s) milk
1 cup(s) milk chocolate chips
1 cup(s) coconut
1/2 cup(s) walnuts,chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Cook pudding as directed on package. When cooked take of heat and stir in cake mix,mix well.
  • Pour into greased 15 by 10 pan. Spread with spatula to even out. Sprinkle with milk chocolate chips,coconut and then chopped walnuts. Cook at 350 for 35 min. Test with toothpick to see if it is done. Cool completely. Cut into 24 bars.

2 jars (10 oz each) maraschino cherries, well drained and chopped (1 cup)
1 container Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy cherry frosting

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Generously grease and lightly flour bottom only of 13x9-inch pan, or spray bottom with cooking spray.
  • In small bowl, coat chocolate chips in 1 tablespoon cake mix. In large bowl, beat remaining cake mix, water, sour cream, oil, almond extract and egg whites with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes. Drain chopped cherries on paper towels; pat dry. Stir cherries and coated chocolate chips into batter. Pour into pan.
  • Bake 31 to 37 minutes or until cake springs back when touched lightly in center. Run knife around side of pan to loosen cake. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Spread frosting over top of cake. Store loosely covered.

1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1 cup cold butter
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped almonds

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar and cocoa. Cut in butter until the mixture is crumbly. Add egg and almond extract until blended. Set aside 1 cup for topping. Press remaining crumb mixture into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Carefully top with pie filling. Combine chocolate chips, almonds and reserved crumb mixture; sprinkle over pie filling. , Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool; refrigerate for at least 2 hours before cutting into bars.
