- Saute onion in butter until soft.
- Stir in flour. Remove fromt heat and add milk.
- Cook til thick and add cheese.
- Add spices.
- Pour over carrots in a casserole dish.
- Top with cornflakes and 3 Tbsp butter.
- Bake covered 350F 20-25 minutes.
- Remove cover for last 5 minutes.

This recipe came from my mother-in-law. It was the best way to get her kids to eat their vegetables. Now my sister-in-law and I take turns making this for every holiday meal.

Steps:
- Sauté onion and garlic in butter.
- Add soup and cheez whiz.
- Cook until cheez whiz melts.
- Pour vegetables into a 9x13 oven dish or baking pan.
- Pour Cheez/soup mixture over top of vegetables.
- Cook at 350F for about 20 minutes or until heated thoroughly.
CHEESE WHIZ VEGGIE CASSEROLE
A good friend of mine from college gave me this recipe. She served it when we came to her home for dinner. It makes a great side-dish for any meat dish.

- Blend Cheese Whiz, milk, water, and soup.
- Heat until smooth.
- Place vegetables in greased casserole dish.
- Sprinkle uncooked rice and onion flakes over vegetables.
- Pour sauce over all.
- Bake covered for 45 minutes at 350°F.
- If desired, you can double the vegetables but use the same amount of other ingredients.

- If using fresh broccoli cook broccoli to desired tenderness. Sauté celery and onion in a bit of butter if desired. If using cooked rice, prepare rice. This can all be done ahead of time.
- Mix all ingredients and pour into a greased 2 quart casserole with a lid (or cover with foil).
- Sprinkle additional cheese on top.
- Bake covered at 350ºF for 45 minutes if using uncooked minute rice, if using cooked rice bake until warm through and cheese is bubbly.

- Place potatoes in saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook 25 to 30 minutes until tender. Drain.
- Mash potatoes with hand masher or electric mixer. Stir in remaining ingredients. Refrigerate until just before serving time.
- To reheat, microwave at HIGH for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
