Number Of Ingredients 6

1 piece of crisp lettuce
1 slice canned pineapple
1 prunes or 1 apple
2 raisins
2 pieces licorice whips (short pieces)
4 slices olives or 4 slices cherries

Steps:

  • ARRANGE AS FOLLOWS:.
  • Put lettuce on a plate.
  • Cut the pineapplie slice in half and put the rounded sides touching in the middle of the lettuce--these are the wings.
  • Use a date, prune, or apple slice for the body and place it in the middle of the pineapple slice.
  • The two raisins are the eyes that you can tuck under the date.
  • Curl the two licorice whips and make them to come out the middle of the wings just under the head--these are antennae (OR you could use curled celery).
  • Decorate the wings with the olives or cherry slices (or whatever else you could think of).

Number Of Ingredients 8

8 ounces bow tie pasta, preferably whole grain
3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 cup corn kernels, thawed if frozen
1 cup shelled edamame, thawed if frozen
1 medium red bell pepper, diced
2 medium carrots, shredded (about 1/2 cup)
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese (about 1 ounce)

Steps:

  • Cook the pasta as the label directs. Drain and toss with 1 teaspoon olive oil to prevent sticking; let cool.
  • In a large bowl, toss the cooled pasta with the corn, edamame, bell pepper and carrots. Drizzle with the remaining 3 tablespoons olive oil and toss to coat. Add the parmesan and 1/4 teaspoon salt; toss again and season to taste.
