This chili is amazing and has great flavor. My sons and I will only use this recipe, we tried others but this is our favorite and chili isn't just for cold winter nights,it is for anytime you are in the mood for chili. I make this alot and there is never any leftovers.

1 lb ground beef or ground sausage with sage flavoring
1 large onion,chopped
4 stalk(s) celery, chopped(you can omit this if you want)
2 clove garlic minced(i used garlic powder,it is what i had on hand,i used a few dashes)
1 can(s) 30 0z bush's chili beans
2 c water
1 tsp chili powder(more or less,according to taste)
2 Tbsp oil, for your skillet
1/2 c ketcup,any brand will do
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper or hot pepper sauce (like tabasco or cholula)
1 can(s) diced tomatoes(this is not part of the recipe)i choose to add this when i make the chili

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oil in Skillet. Lightly brown meat, push to the side of the pan, add onion, and garlic (& celery if using). Cook until soft.
  • 2. Drain excess fat if using beef. Mix in the remaining ingredients. Simmer 30-45 minutes.
  • 3. Very good served over brown rice, white rice,noodles and as for toppings you can add sour cream,grated cheddar cheese,add biscuts or cheese bread sticks. This chili has excellent flavor!

This a delicious and simple recipe to make, using several prepared ingredients from the grocery store. It couldn't be any easier and is a good dish to make on a cold winter's night.

1 onion
1 1/2 lbs ground chuck
3 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
10 3/4 ounces condensed tomato soup
14 1/2 ounces diced tomatoes with sweet onions (undrained)
10 ounces mild diced tomatoes and green chilies (undrained)
16 ounces of bush's best beans in chili sauce (undrained)
15 ounces bush's best black beans (drained)

Steps:

  • Peel onion, chop coarsely and divide chopped pieces in half. Preheat large saucepan on medium-high for 2-3 minutes. Place beef, chili powder, seasoned salt, pepper and one-half of the onions in the pan. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring to crumble meat, or until meat is brown and no pink remains.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients, including remaining one-half of the onions. Bring to a boil, stirring often.
  • Reduce heat to low; cook 10 more minutes, stirring occasionally, to blend flavors, and serve.
