A simple little recipe for when you get caught without any syrup for your pancakes or even over some ice cream.

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 lb brown sugar (2 cups)
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring or 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a medium sauce pan, add brown sugar and water and bring to a boil.
  • Stir constantly for about 3 minutes and reduce heat to low.
  • Keep stirring until all sugar has dissolved.
  • Remove from heat and stir in flavoring.
  • If using cinnamon, add to dry brown sugar before adding liquid.
  • Allow to cool before using.

1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup water
1/4-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Splash of lemon juice

Steps:

  • Combine the water and the sugar in a small saucepan and place over medium heat until gently boiling. Reduce heat and simmer the syrup for five minutes, until the sugar is well dissolved, stirring from time to time. Stir in cinnamon and lemon juice
