This is a little different than the other broccoli slaw recipes I found posted here. My family loves it and salads are such great side dishes when the weather is so hot out!

1 (12 ounce) bag broccoli slaw mix
1 (15 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1 (8 ounce) bottle coleslaw dressing

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients and chill until ready to serve.
  • ***Diced apple chunks can be added for an extra crunch. I'd use a tart apple, like a Granny Smith.

4 cups broccoli florets
2 cups shredded red cabbage
1 small sweet onion, finely chopped
1 medium carrot, shredded
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup coleslaw salad dressing

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and toss. Refrigerate, covered, at least 2 hours. Stir before serving.

1 cup ranch dressing

Steps:

  • In a large bowl combine slaw mix, raisins and almonds. Pour the dressing over the slaw mixture and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour before serving.

CALIFORNIA CITRUS BROCCOLI SLAW



California Citrus Broccoli Slaw image

Create a new slaw with broccoli, oranges and a light citrus dressing.

1 bag (16 ounces) broccoli slaw
1 small jicama, peeled and cut into julienne strips (2 cups)
3 oranges
1 small red onion, cut in half and thinly sliced (1 cup)
2/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 tablespoons lemon juice
4 teaspoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons grated orange peel
1/8 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • In large bowl, mix broccoli slaw and jicama. Peel oranges with sharp paring knife; cut into 1/4-inch slices. Cut each slice into fourths. Add oranges, onion and cilantro to broccoli mixture.
  • In tightly covered container, shake all dressing ingredients until well mixed. Pour dressing over salad and toss. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours.

1/3 cup orange juice, about 1/2 an orange
1/3 cup rice vinegar
2 teaspoons minced shallot
Coarse salt
1 tablespoon dark sesame oil
1 tablespoon grated ginger
1 teaspoon Coleman's mustard
1 (10 ounce) bag broccoli slaw

Steps:

  • Combine orange juice, vinegar and shallots in bowl you'll be serving slaw in. Add good pinch of salt. Let stand 5 to 20 minutes, as long as you can. Whisk in sesame oil, ginger and mustard. Taste and adjust seasonings. Add broccoli slaw to bowl, toss to combine. Taste once more. Serve immediately.
