Bottom's up! But take it slow. This classic New Orlean's (N'Awlins) cocktail calls for all the big cocktail players, disguised in splashes of grenadine and fruit juice.

1 ounce vodka
1 ounce gin
1 ounce light rum
½ oz Bacardi® 151 rum
1 ounce amaretto almond liqueur
1 ounce triple sec
1½ teaspoons grenadine
Grapefruit juice
Pineapple juice
Long straws (you need a tall glass for this one!)
1 orange, sliced into half moons, for garnish
Maraschino cherries, for garnish

Steps:

  • Fill as large a glass as you have three-fourths full of ice.
  • Pour in liquors first, then add equal parts of each fruit juice until the glass is full.
  • Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.

Bourbon Street Balls with Pecans image

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 cups whole pecans or pecan halves
2 cups crushed or processed vanilla-flavored wafer cookies (recommended: Nabisco Nilla wafers)
1 cup confectioners' sugar
4 jiggers (1 1/2 ounces per jigger) bourbon, or to taste
3 tablespoons light corn syrup (recommended: Karo)
Butter, for fingertips

Steps:

  • Roughly chop 4 cups pecans in a food processor. Remove 2 cups and reserve. Finely grind the remaining pecans in the food processor.
  • Combine the finely ground pecans, vanilla wafers, confectioners' sugar, bourbon, and corn syrup. Coat finger tips with the softened butter to help you roll. Shape the mixture into balls 1 1/2-inches in diameter using an ice cream scoop. Roll the balls in chopped pecans.
  • Arrange the balls on a dessert platter. If the balls are too soft, chill (about 2 hours) in the refrigerator to help firm, if desired and serve.

1 stick unsalted butter, melted, plus more for the pan
1 3/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
3 tablespoons Maker's Mark® Bourbon
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup roasted salted peanuts
1 1/3 cups sweetened flaked coconut

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Butter a 13- by 9-inch baking pan, line with parchment paper or foil, and butter the parchment. 2. In a medium bowl, stir together the butter and graham cracker crumbs until well-mixed. Press firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan. In the same bowl, stir together the sweetened condensed milk and bourbon. Pour over the graham cracker crust. Sprinkle the chocolate chips, then the peanuts and coconut evenly on top. Press down firmly. 3. Bake until golden brown, 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. 4. Lift out of the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into 12 bars.
