Homemade salsa is just 15 minutes away with garden-fresh tomatoes.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 lb plum (Roma) tomatoes (about 6 tomatoes)
1 jalapeƱo chile, seeded
1 clove garlic, peeled
1/4 medium white onion
1/2 teaspoon chicken tomato bouillon granules
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Steps:

  • In blender, place all ingredients except oil. Cover; blend until smooth.
  • In 2-quart saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add tomato mixture; cook about 5 minutes or until hot. Serve warm or cold with tortilla chips, as desired. Cover and refrigerate any remaining salsa.

Red Salsa 5mg sodium = 1/2 c.

1 can(s) 14.5 oz. diced tomatoes, no salt added
1/2 - sweet onion
1 - fresh jalapeno's
1/4-1/2 cup(s) chopped cilantro
2 clove(s) garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon(s) cumin
1/4 teaspoon(s) mexican oregano

Steps:

  • Place diced tomatoes in mircowave proof bowl. Cut jalapeno(s)in half, and onion in quarters. Add to bowl with cilantro, garlic, cumin and oregano. Microwave for 5 min. (I place a plate over the bowl while microwaving to avoid splattering). Once veggies have cooled a bit, place in food processor and puree, add a little water if you prefer thinner sauce.
