1 egg
1/2 cup barbecue sauce, divided
3/4 cup crushed cornflakes
1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt
1 pound ground beef

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine egg, 1/4 cup barbecue sauce, cornflake crumbs and salt. Add beef and mix well. Shape into four oval patties, about 3/4 in. thick. , Place in a greased 11x7-in. baking pan. Spread with remaining barbecue sauce. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 25-30 minutes or until meat is no longer pink and thermometer reads 160°; drain.

4 slices bread, torn into small pieces
1/2 cup milk
1 lb ground beef
1 onion, small, minced
salt and pepper
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup catsup

Steps:

  • Moisten bread in milk. Combine with meat, onion, salt and pepper, mix well.
  • Shape into patties.
  • Brown in oil in frying pan.
  • Combine remaining ingredients with 1/2 cup water to make a sauce.
  • Pour sauce over patties.
  • Continue cooking, covered over low heat for 30 minutes.

3 pounds ground beef extra-lean
2 eggs slightly beaten
1 (3 1/2-ounce) bottle capers drained
1/2 onion large, minced
3 tablespoons Dijon style mustard
1/2 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
2 cups barbecue sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients except barbecue sauce, blending well. Form into 12 patties. Make an indentation in center of each and fill with barbecue sauce. Cover with wax paper or foil and refrigerate until ready to cook. 2. Place patties on greased grill over hot coals. Lower hood and cook without turning until desired doneness.Note: Can be frozen for later use.
