2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 cup mashed ripe bananas
3 tablespoons whipping cream
1 cup white sugar
½ cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 (6 ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips
½ cup chopped pecans
¼ cup chocolate-hazelnut spread (such as Nutella®)
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup half-and-half
4 tablespoons butter
1 pinch salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, and baking soda in a medium bowl. Combine bananas and cream in another bowl.
  • Cream sugar and butter in a third bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture in 2 batches, alternating with the banana mixture, beating batter briefly after each addition. Fold in chocolate chips and pecans. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  • Place chocolate-hazelnut spread in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on High until melted, about 25 seconds. Pour over the batter in the pan and swirl in with a knife.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 60 to 70 minutes.
  • While the bread is baking, whisk the brown sugar, half-and-half, butter, and salt in a saucepan over medium-low heat until it thickens, 5 to 7 minutes. Add vanilla and cook until a bit thicker, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Pour sauce into a jar and refrigerate until cold.
  • Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve with caramel sauce.

Number Of Ingredients 12

2/3 cup shortening
1-1/4 cups sugar
4 large eggs
3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 4 medium)
2 cans (8 ounces each) crushed pineapple, drained
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 jar (10 ounces) red maraschino cherries, chopped and well drained
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with bananas and pineapple. Fold in the chocolate chips, cherries and walnuts. , Pour into two greased 9x5-in. loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.

3 tablespoons milk
2 cups flour

Steps:

  • In a bowl cream butter and sugar.
  • Beat in egg.
  • In a second bowl combine milk and mashed bananas.
  • Combine flour, baking soda and baking powder.

  • Pour into greased loaf pan
  • Bake 350°F 60 to 70 minutes.

1 1/2 c ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 c light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/3 c milk
2/3 c egg substitite
5 c bread cut into 1 inch cubes
3/4 c miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla extract
frozen whipped topping, thawed
sliced strawberries

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350'. Spray a 11 x 7 baking dish with cooking spray. Beat bananas, sugar, milk and egg product with a wire wisk.
  • 2. Fold in bread cubes,1/4 cup chocolate chips and vanilla. Spread in pan. Sprinkle with remaining chips. Bake 40-45 minutes until golden brown and set.
  • 3. Cut into wedges and tope with whipped cream and sliced strawberries. ENJOY !

1 1/3 cups fat-free (skim) milk

1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons miniature semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup strawberry ice cream topping, if desired

A yummy twist on banana bread... I also use this recipe to make muffins, just bake for the amount of time suggested on the banana bread mix box. If I make bread, I rarely make the glaze because it doesn't really need it and the bread is very moist. If making muffins, those tend to be less moist, so I will drizzle the glaze on.

1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple (well drained, reserving liquid)
1 (14 ounce) package banana bread mix
2 eggs
3 tablespoons oil
1/3 cup chopped strawberry
1/3 cup semisweet mini chocolate chips
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips, melted
4 teaspoons milk

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375.
  • Grease and flour bottom of pan.
  • Add water to reserved pineapple juice to make 3/4 cup.
  • In large bowl, combine all bread ingredients and stir till moist.
  • Pour batter into pan and bake at 375 for 55-60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool loaf in pan for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from pan, cool for 45 minutes.
  • Glaze: In small bowl, combine all glaze ingredients and stir until well blended. Drizzle over cooled loaf.
  • HIGH ALTITUDE: Add 1 tbsp flour to mix. Bake at 375 for 50-60 minutes.

I found this recipe some time ago and it is sooo yummy! My kids love it for breakfast! Its a moist and delicious bread, unique in flavor and makes a wonderful gift wrapped in pretty cellophane and tied with ribbons : )

1 box banana quick bread
1 8 oz can crushed pineapple, drained well and reserve the juice
2 large eggs
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/3 c chopped maraschino cherries
1/3 c milk chocolate chips
1/3 c chopped walnuts or pecans
3 medium bananas mashed
GLAZE
1 can creamy vanilla frosting
few drops banana extract
few drops maraschino cherry juice

Steps:

  • 1. Take reserved pineapple juice and add water to make 3/4 of a cup of liquid.
  • 2. By hand, stir together bread mix, eggs, oil, pineapple, mashed bananas, cherries, chocolate chips, walnuts and reserved pineapple juice until moistend well.
  • 3. Spray just the bottom of an 8 x 4 or 9 x 5-inch loaf/bread pan with flour no-stick spray.
  • 4. Bake in oven that has been preheated to 375 degree for 40 to 55 minutes or until toothpick put in center of bread comes out clean.
  • 5. Cool bread in pan on wire rack for about 15 minutes then remove from pan. Cool completely.
  • 6. Combine glaze ingredients and mix stir till well blended. Drizzle over top of bread.
  • 7. Enjoy this wonderful bread for breakfast, as a snack, or wrap it up pretty and give as gifts for thanksgiving and christmas like i do : )

1 20 oz. can pineapple tidbits, drained well
1 C. dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips
Approximately 30 maraschino cherries, well drained and cut in half
1 C. chopped walnuts or pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degees. In a large bowl, cream together the shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well. In a separate bowl mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt. Add this dry mix to the creamed mix small batches at a time, alternately with the bananas and pineapple. This recipes started out has just needing to use up some bananas. I had seen a recipe for banana bread using cake mix and looked it up. I knew I wanted to do something a bit more fun than simple banana bread and so this idea was born. This is wonderfully moist and Incredibly delicious.

4 bananas, mashed
1/3 cup(s) mayonnaise
3 eggs
3 tablespoon(s) crushed pineapple
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
2/3 cup(s) freeze dried strawberries, lightly broken up.
1 box(es) yellow or vanilla cake mix
1/2 cup(s) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup(s) chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Mix together bananas, mayonnaise, eggs, pineapple and vanilla extract until well blended and add strawberries. Mix lightly. let's sit for a few minutes to plump the strawberries
  • Toss chocolate chips in cake mix and pour into banana mixture.
  • Coat 2 loaf pans in butter nonstick spray. Pour sugar into pan and move paying around until sugar coats all sides and bottom evenly pour out excess sugar.
  • Pour half the batter into each loaf pan and top with half of the chopped pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before removing.
