Bacon Wrapped Green Bean Bundles are loaded with a herby, buttery flavor and a hint of sweetness! They can easily be made to suit dairy-free, low carb, paleo, and Whole30 diets. They're also naturally gluten-free!

1 1/2 pounds thin fresh green beans (haricot verts or french green beans work best))
6 slices bacon (cut in half (do not use thick-cut bacon))
1/4 cup butter (melted)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2-4 Tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 Tablespoon fresh rosemary (finely chopped)
1 Tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup. Separate the bacon slices and lay flat on the baking sheet. Bake for 8 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the green beans for 2 minutes, just until they are bright green and slightly tender. Drain and rinse with cold water for 1 minute immediately or put in ice bath. Pat dry.
  • Combine butter, garlic powder, and salt in a small bowl. Pour over green beans, tossing to coat.
  • Wrap 8-10 green beans into a bundle with half a piece of bacon, securing with a toothpick. Lay on the baking sheet and repeat until all of the beans are wrapped. Combine brown sugar, pepper, and rosemary. Sprinkle over the bundles.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the green beans are tender. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.

1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
cooking spray
1 (12 ounce) package thin-sliced smoked maple bacon, cut in 1/2
½ cup butter, melted
½ cup brown sugar
4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon minced garlic

Steps:

  • Fill a large bowl with ice and cold water. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook uncovered until tender-crisp, 2 to 3 minutes. Drain in a colander and immediately immerse in ice water for several minutes to stop the cooking process. Drain.
  • Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Place bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until almost browned but flimsy, and not yet crisp, 6 to 8 minutes. Drain bacon slices on paper towels and let cool slightly, about 5 minutes.
  • Wrap 8 to 10 green beans with bacon and place into the prepared dish. Repeat with remaining green beans and bacon.
  • Combine butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire, soy sauce, and garlic in a bowl. Pour over green bean bundles. Cover with aluminum foil and marinate in the refrigerator, 2 hours to overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Bake green bean bundles in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove foil and continue to bake until bacon is crispy, about 15 minutes more.

3/4 pound fresh green beans
4 bacon strips
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/8 teaspoon soy sauce

Steps:

  • Place beans in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, for 8 minutes or until crisp-tender. Meanwhile, in a skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until cooked but not crisp, about 3 minutes. Remove to paper towels. , Drain beans; place about 12 beans on each bacon strip. Wrap bacon around beans and secure with a toothpick. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. , In a small bowl, combine the butter, brown sugar, garlic salt and soy sauce; brush over bundles. Bake at 400° for 10-15 minutes or until bacon is crisp.

This is such a tasty side dish!!!! I love it with beef, but have made it with everything. Although it's a little time-consuming at the beginning, they are really very easy to make. You can wrap the beans ahead and keep in the refrigerator until ready to broil.

2 (16 ounce) cans green beans (WHOLE style)
1 lb bacon
1 cup brown sugar (approximately)
salt
pepper
garlic powder
toothpick

Steps:

  • Preheat broiler.
  • Pour drained green beans into large bowl.
  • Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
  • Cut each bacon slice into 3 equal portions.
  • Wrap 6-8 beans with bacon piece, securing with toothpick.
  • Place on broiler pan.
  • Sprinkle evenly with some of the brown sugar.
  • Broil until sugar melts and bacon browns.

1 (12 ounce) package bacon, strips cut in half
1 (16 ounce) package frozen cut green beans
2 tablespoons brown sugar
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a casserole dish.
  • Set out the bacon, green beans and casserole dish in a little assembly line. Lay out a half strip of bacon. place a small bunch of green beans (6 or 7) onto the strip of bacon and roll up into a bundle. Place the bundle into the casserole dish, seam side down. Repeat with remaining bacon strips and green beans. You can pack these pretty tight in the pan, just know that if the bacon is touching another bundle they take some prying to get apart. Sprinkle with the brown sugar and salt and pepper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until browned and heated through, about 20 minutes.

If you want a veggie everyone will love, you can't go wrong with these. Bacon wrapped anything is a hit! These are unique with their brown sugar, salt, and pepper flavor. The bacon drippings and brown sugar create their own sauce that the green beans cook in. Serve these and kids will definitely eat their veggies.

1 lb whole, fresh green beans
3-4 slice bacon, cut in thirds
1/3 c light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 325F degrees.
  • 2. Combine green beans and enough water to cover in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes.
  • 3. Drain.
  • 4. Wrap 5 or 6 green beans with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  • 5. Repeat procedure with remaining green beans and bacon.
  • 6. Arrange bundles in a 13x9 baking dish.
  • 7. Sprinkle with brown sugar, salt and black pepper.
  • 8. Bake bundles until bacon is crisp about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • 9. TIP: If you don't have fresh green beans use 2 - 14.5-ounce cans of canned green beans. Drain, rinse and drain one more time. Toss beans with 1 tbsp lemon juice for a taste of freshness before making recipe.
