CHEDDAR CHEESE BACON LOG

What is a party with out a cheese ball or cheese log? Cheese spreads add a delightful taste to crackers,veggies and toasted breads.A great appetizer start to any get-together.

8 oz cream cheese,softened
1 c shredded cheddar cheese
6 slice bacon, fried crisp and crumbled or 1/3 c. bacon bits
2 Tbsp finely chopped celery
1 Tbsp finely chopped onion
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
finely chopped pecans or walnuts or chives or oreo cookie crumbs

Steps:

  • 1. Blend and beat cream cheese with cheddar cheese; add bacon, celery,onion, and W. sauce. Mix well and chill until partially firm. Form into a log shape and roll in chopped nuts or other toppings. Serve with toasted bread crusts or crackers. May be made ahead, wrapped well and frozen -to be used at a later date. Defrost day before in refrigerator.

2 pkg cream cheese (8 oz each)
1 container sharp cheddar Pub Cheese (8 oz)
1 1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese
1 pkg real bacon bits or pieces (4.5 oz)
2-4 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 c crushed pecans
2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • 1. Combine first 6 ingredients; mix well, shape into a log.
  • 2. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Combine pecans and parsley; Roll log into pecan mixture. Chill and serve.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/4 lb. (4 oz.) VELVEETA, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
4 oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
4 slices OSCAR MAYER Bacon, cooked, crumbled
3 Tbsp. finely chopped red onions
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, divided
1/2 tsp. paprika

Steps:

  • Process VELVEETA and cream cheese in food processor until well blended; transfer to medium bowl. Stir in bacon, onions and 2 Tbsp. parsley. Place on large piece of plastic wrap.
  • Roll into log; wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm.
  • Remove plastic wrap. Roll log in remaining parsley; sprinkle with paprika.

2 green onions, thinly sliced
6 (8 ounce) jars wisconsin process cheddar cheese spread
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
snipped parsley

Steps:

  • Beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add bacon and green onions, mixing until thoroughly blended. Shape into a log about 8-inch long, cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Coat log with cheese spread. Roll in pecans and garnish with snipped parsley. Chill and serve with lightly salted crackers.

1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese softened
6 slices bacon fried crisp and crumbled
2 tablespoons green onions minced
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (optional)
Green onion brushes
olives Pimiento-stuffed
Assorted crackers

Steps:

  • In a small mixer bowl at low speed, beat cheeses for 3 minutes.Add bacon, green onion and optional red pepper. Beat until well blended. Cover and chill at least 2 hours.On a sheet of waxed paper, form into a 6-inch log. Remove wrap. Place on a cheese board or serving plate. Garnish with green onions and olives. Serve with crackers.
