3/4 cup maple syrup
3/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1/4 teaspoon celery seed
Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • In a small bowl or a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine all ingredients; mix or shake well. Serve over ribs, chicken, pork or ham or use as a marinade. Store in the refrigerator.

2 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup cider vinegar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 lemon slices
1 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 cups ketchup
2 tablespoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add onion and garlic; sauté 5 to 6 minutes or until tender.
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 30 minutes, stirring often.
  • Remove and discard lemon slices.
  • NOTE: Sauce can be made ahead and kept covered in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
