Here are some valuable tips to keep in mind when making arugula artichoke hummus recipes.

1. Use Fresh Ingredients

The key to making a delicious hummus is using fresh ingredients. Use crisp, fresh arugula and tender, tangy artichokes to give your hummus a bright and vibrant flavor. Opt for canned or frozen artichokes if fresh ones are not available. It is also important to use fresh garlic and lemon juice to give your hummus a zesty and tangy taste.

2. Toast Your Spices and Nuts

Toasting your spices and nuts can enhance the flavor of your hummus significantly. Toast your cumin seeds, coriander seeds, and sesame seeds until fragrant and golden brown. Roast your nuts, such as almonds or walnuts, for added crunch and flavor. Toasting your spices and nuts adds an aromatic and earthy flavor to your hummus.

3. Experiment with Different Bean Varieties

While chickpeas are the classic bean for hummus, you can try experimenting with different bean varieties to add depth and texture to your arugula artichoke hummus. Black beans or cannellini beans are great alternatives to chickpeas, and they add a unique flavor and creaminess to your hummus. Mixing different beans together can also add different textures.

4. Add Seasonings According to Your Preferences

Seasonings play a crucial role in making delicious arugula artichoke hummus. Add seasonings such as ground black pepper, paprika, and sea salt according to your preferences. Be careful not to over-season your hummus; remember, you can always add more seasonings later.

5. Blend Until Smooth and Creamy

One of the most important steps in making hummus is blending it until it is smooth and creamy. Remove the skin of the chickpeas for a smoother hummus texture. Blend the hummus until all the ingredients are fully incorporated and smooth. If your hummus is too thick, you can add a little water or olive oil to help thin it out.

6. Add Toppings for Extra Flavor and Texture

Toppings can add an extra kick of flavor and texture to your hummus. Sprinkle chopped fresh herbs, such as parsley or cilantro, on top of the hummus for extra color and freshness. Drizzle a little olive oil and lemon juice over the top for added tanginess. Roasted pine nuts or sesame seeds can add a nice crunch to your hummus as well.

7. Give Your Hummus Time to Rest

Allow your hummus to rest for a few hours before serving to allow the flavors to fully develop. The flavors will marry together and intensify, making your hummus even more delicious. Store your hummus in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
