ROOIBOS, FRESH APPLE, GINGER AND LEMON ICED TEA

Rooibos, Fresh Apple, Ginger and Lemon Iced Tea image

You'll need a good juicer. Rooibos (redbush) is a herb-type plant that only thrives in the Cederberg mountain area, about 200 kms north of Cape Town, South Africa. Its health properties have been increasingly studied and confirmed in recent years and the tea (tisane, or infusion) of rooibos has become popular in Western countries and is available in the herbal tea section of many supermarkets as well as specialty health stores. Babies that grow up in South Africa are often fed rooibos tea from the bottle. It is high in antioxidants and micro-nutrients, and contains no caffeine. Since I live near to where rooibos is grown and I have a newfound love affair with juicing fresh fruits, I want to share this awesome iced tea, packed full of goodness. You won't need to sweeten this iced tea, since there is so much sweetness and deliciousness in the fresh apple juice. The ginger adds zing and has additional health benefits, and the lemon adds a hint of tartness and of course Vitamin C.

APPLE AND TEA BRINE, INJECTED, RUBBED AND DEEP FRIED TURKEY

Apple and Tea Brine, Injected, Rubbed and Deep Fried Turkey image

I know sounds a little kinky! What more can a turkey want? I brined, injected, rubbed, and deep fried this turkey for the Fourth of July. This recipe is here for you to play with. You can choice one or all of these methods for making your turkey. This is a quick way to cook a turkey. I had a 14 pound turkey cooked in 35 minutes. All in the time is in the prep. Make sure to remove plastic leg holder and pop up timer. Giblets and neck can be used for an other use(Stock).I gave this 15 hours of passive work time. Brining is good at 10 hours. Take note the turkey looks burnt but its not its all the dry rub and being deep fried. Everyone picks at the crispy skin as it's being craved. It's a no wonder that no fingers get? It's wonderful. Yes you can just brine, dry rub, inject AND OR deep fry this recipe. You'll find any of all options or one way wonderful.

Apple tea is a refreshing and healthy beverage that is enjoyed widely around the world. It has a sweet and tangy taste with a refreshing aroma that can energize you anytime. Apple tea can be made in different forms, including hot, cold, or iced variant, and with different ingredients such as cinnamon, honey, lemon, and ginger. In this article, we will discuss some valuable tips on how to make delicious apple tea recipes that you can enjoy with your friends and family. Tip 1: Choose the right type of apple The first step in making a delicious apple tea is to choose the right type of apple. Different types of apples have different flavors and textures, and some may be better suited for making tea than others. Generally, the best apples for making tea are the ones that are slightly tart and have a firm texture. This is because they will hold up well during the brewing process, and their tangy flavor will complement the sweetness of the tea. Some good options for apples that you can use in making tea include Granny Smith apples, Honeycrisp apples, Pink Lady apples, and Jonathan apples. Additionally, you should also consider the color of the apple. Red or pink apples can add a nice rosy hue to the tea, while green apples can add a crisp, refreshing taste. Tip 2: Add natural sweeteners Apple tea is naturally sweet due to the natural sugars found in the fruit, but you can add a little extra sweetness by adding natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup. These natural sweeteners can enhance the flavor of the tea while also providing some added health benefits. Honey is an excellent natural sweetener for apple tea because it has antibacterial properties and can help soothe a sore throat. Maple syrup is also a great natural sweetener and contains vitamins and minerals such as calcium, potassium, and iron. Be mindful of how much you add as both honey and maple syrup are high in sugar and can increase the caloric count of your tea. Tip 3: Add spices and herbs Spices and herbs can add an extra layer of flavor to your apple tea. Cinnamon is a popular spice that can add warmth and depth to the tea. It has a sweet and spicy flavor and provides a host of health benefits, including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Ginger is another spice that you can add to apple tea to give it a little kick. It has a slightly spicy, earthy flavor and can help soothe nausea and indigestion. If you prefer to add herbs to your tea, you can add some fresh mint or basil leaves. Mint leaves can add a refreshing, cooling taste to the tea, while basil leaves can add a slightly sweet and spicy flavor. Tip 4: Use a tea infuser or tea bag The best way to make apple tea is by using a tea infuser or tea bag. This method allows the tea to steep evenly, ensuring that all the flavors are extracted properly. You can use a reusable tea infuser, or you can opt for disposable tea bags. When using a tea infuser, be sure to choose one that has a fine mesh so that the tea leaves do not escape into the tea. If you are using disposable tea bags, choose ones that are made from natural materials like cotton or muslin rather than nylon, which can release harmful chemicals into the tea. Tip 5: Add lemon juice or peels Adding lemon juice or peels to apple tea can give it a tangy and refreshing twist. Lemon juice can also help to balance out the sweetness of the apple, making it less cloying. Additionally, lemon juice contains vitamin C, which can boost your immune system and help fight off colds and infections. To add lemon juice to your apple tea, you can simply squeeze a few fresh lemon wedges into the tea while it's brewing. Alternatively, you can add some lemon peels to the tea before steeping. The lemon peels will release their natural oils and flavor while brewing, adding a subtle citrusy aroma and taste. Conclusion: Apple tea is a delicious and healthy beverage that is easy to make at home. By following these tips, you can make a perfect cup of apple tea that is sweet, tangy, and refreshing. Remember to choose the right type of apple, add natural sweeteners, spices or herbs, use a tea infuser or tea bag and add lemon juice or peels for extra flavor.
