Tips for Making the Perfect Apple Pie Blondies

Apple pie blondies are a delicious dessert that combines the flavors of a traditional apple pie with the texture and chewiness of blondies, and they are perfect for any occasion. Here are some tips for making the perfect apple pie blondies:
1. Use Fresh Apples
Using fresh apples is essential when making apple pie blondies. The apples should be firm, and not too ripe or mushy. A good variety of apple to use for this recipe is Honeycrisp or Granny Smith - both hold up well when baked and have a tart sweetness that pairs well with the brown sugar and cinnamon in the blondies.
2. Make a Homemade Pie Filling
While it may be tempting to use a store-bought pie filling, making a homemade pie filling really makes a difference in the flavor of your apple pie blondies. By cooking the apples down with cinnamon, sugar, and butter, you infuse them with more flavor and create a thick, gooey filling that sets these blondies apart.
3. Choose the Right Pan
Choosing the right pan is also important when making your apple blondies. A 9x13 inch baking pan is ideal for this recipe because it allows for even baking and enough surface area to evenly distribute the pie filling.
4. Let Them Cool Completely
When your apple pie blondies are done baking, it can be tempting to cut into them while they are still warm. However, it's important to let them cool completely before cutting them into squares. This will allow the filling to set and for the blondies to firm up, so they hold their shape when cutting.
5. Use Parchment Paper
Another tip for making the perfect apple pie blondies is to line your baking pan with parchment paper. This will make it easy to remove the blondies from the pan once they are done baking, and also make clean up a breeze.
6. Add a Streusel Topping
Adding a streusel topping to your apple pie blondies is a great way to elevate the flavor and texture of this dessert. You can make a simple streusel topping by combining flour, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon, and sprinkling it over the top of the apple pie filling before baking.
7. Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream
Finally, the perfect way to serve your apple pie blondies is with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. The cold and creamy ice cream tastes amazing when paired with the warm and gooey blondies, and is sure to impress your guests. In conclusion, follow these simple tips to make the perfect apple pie blondies for your next gathering or special occasion. With the right ingredients, pan, and preparation, you can create a delicious dessert that is sure to be a hit with friends and family.
