APPLE CINNAMON CHEESE BALL
One of my friends made something similar to this at a party, and I loved it. I asked for the recipe but lost it, and ended up trying to make it by memory. It may not be the original recipe, but its darn good! It has a sweeter taste than your average cheese ball. Excellent with Sesame Seed Crackers.

Ingredients
The ingredients for an apple cinnamon cheese ball recipe are simple and easily available:
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 medium apple, peeled and finely chopped
- ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Tips for Making the Best Apple Cinnamon Cheese Ball
1. Room Temperature Cream Cheese
When making a cheese ball, it is important to use softened cream cheese. Cold cream cheese will not blend properly and will leave lumps in your cheese ball. Leaving cream cheese at room temperature for 30-60 minutes before starting your recipe is the best way to ensure it is soft and ready to use.
2. Don't Over Mix
While mixing your ingredients together, be careful to not overwork the mixture. Overmixing can cause the cheese ball to become oily or greasy because of the cream cheese. Mix only until the ingredients are combined, and the cheese ball will be smooth and delicious.
3. Sweeten with Brown Sugar
Using brown sugar to sweeten your apple cheese ball recipe is better than using white sugar. Brown sugar has a more caramel-like flavor, which complements the apple and cinnamon. It also helps to balance out the tanginess of the cream cheese and adds to the overall richness of the cheese ball.
4. Use High-Quality Vanilla Extract
Vanilla extract is an essential ingredient in an apple cinnamon cheese ball recipe. Make sure to use a high-quality vanilla extract for the best flavor. Pure vanilla extract is more expensive, but the taste difference is worth the cost.
5. Add Chopped Apples
The chopped apples are the star ingredient in this recipe. Use a finely chopped apple to ensure it blends well with the other ingredients in the cheese ball. It is recommended to use a tart apple like Granny Smith, to add a contrasting flavor to the sweetness of the brown sugar and cinnamon.
6. Choose Your Nuts Wisely
While walnuts and pecans are commonly used in this recipe, you can also use other nuts like almonds or hazelnuts. The nuts add a crunchy texture to the cheese ball, and their flavor complements the apple and cinnamon. Chopping them finely will ensure they blend well with other ingredients.
7. Roll Cheese Ball in Cinnamon Sugar
Rolling the cheese ball in cinnamon sugar is optional, but it adds a sweet and spicy layer of flavor to the outside of the cheese ball. You can easily make your cinnamon sugar by mixing cinnamon powder and granulated sugar together. Roll the cheese ball in the mixture until it is coated evenly.
Conclusion
Making an apple cinnamon cheese ball is a great way to impress your guests with simple and delicious flavors. Following these tips will ensure your cheese ball is not only easy to make but also rich and flavorful. Experiment with different ingredients and nuts to create a cheese ball that is unique to your taste. Enjoy!
