Banana-Apple Chocolate Chunk Cookies image

I have searched for gluten-free, sugar-free cookies that didn't taste like hockey pucks and couldn't find any. So I made my own. The banana and the applesauce make these cookies very moist and tasty. They are almost Palo friendly.

Here are some valuable tips to make perfect apple banana cookies that will surely satisfy your taste buds.

Tip 1: Choosing the Right Ingredients

The ingredients you choose when making cookies can make or break your recipe, so it's important to select them wisely. The right ingredients will ensure that your cookies come out soft and chewy, with just the right amount of sweetness. For apple banana cookies, you need to ensure that you choose ripe bananas and apples. This will ensure that the flavors are intense and the mixture is not too dry. Additionally, make sure to use unsalted butter to add creaminess to the mixture. Brown sugar is also preferred as it adds a rich flavor to the recipe.
    Ingredients:
    - 2 ripe bananas mashed - 1 medium-sized apple chopped - 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour - 1/2 tsp. baking soda - 1/4 tsp. salt - 1/2 tsp. cinnamon - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened - 1/2 cup brown sugar - 1 egg - 1 tsp. vanilla extract

    Tip 2: Preparing the Ingredients

Preparing the ingredients is just as important as choosing the right ingredients, if not more. Before making the mixture, ensure that you chop the apple into small pieces so that it can easily blend with the mashed bananas. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper. Sift the flour and baking soda in a large bowl, add salt and cinnamon, and stir it well. In a separate bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy. Add the mashed bananas to the creamed mixture and mix well. Once done, mix the apple pieces into the mixture until combined.

    Tip 3: Mixing the Dough

When mixing the dough, ensure that you don't overwork it. Overworking the dough can make the cookies tough and not as fluffy as desired. Mix only until the apple pieces are incorporated and evenly distributed.
    Steps to Follow:
    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). 2. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper. 3. Sift flour and baking soda in a large bowl, add salt and cinnamon, and stir well. 4. In a separate bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy. 5. Add the mashed bananas to the creamed mixture and mix well. 6. Mix the apple pieces into the mixture. 7. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them. 8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. 9. Remove from oven and leave to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

    Tip 4: Baking the Cookies

When baking the cookies, ensure that your oven is at the right temperature, and don't overbake the cookies. Overbaking the cookies can make them dry and hard. The cookies should remain slightly soft and chewy.
    Tips for Baking:
    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). 2. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper. 3. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them. 4. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

    Tip 5: Storing the Cookies

Once the cookies have cooled, store them in an airtight container to keep them fresh for an extended period. You can keep them in the refrigerator to prolong their shelf life.
    Storage Guidelines:
    1. Allow the cookies to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container. 2. Place the container in the refrigerator for extended shelf life. 3. You can also freeze the cookies for up to three months.

    Conclusion
