Steps:
- Pat pork chops dry with paper towels, and season with salt and pepper.
- Melt butter in a large, nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil and stir to combine.
- When butter and oil shimmer, carefully add chops and cook over medium heat until browned on one side, 5 to 6 minutes. Turn and cook pork chops until no longer pink in the center and browned on the other side, 3 to 4 minutes. Do not overcook the chops or they will turn dry and hard. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
- Remove pork chops from heat and cover to keep warm.
- Combine chicken broth, balsamic vinegar, and honey in a small saucepan. Bring glaze to a boil over medium-high heat and boil until mixture is reduced to 1/2 cup, 5 to 6 minutes.
- Drizzle pan-fried chops with balsamic glaze and serve warm.

Pick the right cut of pork
The first and most crucial step in making apple balsamic pork chops rice recipe is to pick the right cut of pork.- Use bone-in pork chops.
- Thick-cut pork chops are ideal for this recipe because they will hold up well during the cooking process and will not dry out quickly.
- Remove the excess fat from the pork chops, leaving only a thin layer for flavor.
Use fresh ingredients
The quality of the ingredients that you use in your apple balsamic pork chops rice recipe will directly impact the taste of the dish.- Use fresh apples that are firm and crisp.
- For best results, choose tart apples such as Granny Smith or Braeburn, as they will balance the sweet flavors of the sauce.
- Make sure to use fresh garlic, onions and other herbs and spices, as they will give your dish a rich and flavorful taste.
Marinate the pork chops
Marinating the pork chops is an essential step that will make your apple balsamic pork chops rice recipe more flavorful and tender.- Place the pork chops in a shallow dish and marinate them in the balsamic vinegar, apple juice, garlic, and herbs for at least an hour or overnight.
- This will allow the flavors to penetrate the meat, resulting in a more flavorful and tender dish.
Sear the pork chops
Searing the pork chops before baking is essential to achieve a crispy and flavorful exterior that will complement the juicy and tender interior.- Heat a skillet over high heat and add some oil.
- Sear the pork chops for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown.
- This will create a caramelized crust that will add flavor and texture to the pork chops.
Bake the pork chops
The next step in making apple balsamic pork chops rice recipe is to bake the pork chops in the oven until they are fully cooked.- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Transfer the seared pork chops to a baking dish and add the sliced apples around them.
- Pour the marinade over the pork chops and apples, and cover the dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the pork chops reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
Prepare the rice
While the pork chops are baking in the oven, prepare the rice.- You can use any type of rice that you prefer, such as white rice, brown rice, or wild rice.
- Rinse the rice thoroughly and add it to a pot with water or broth.
- Bring the rice to a boil and reduce the heat to low.
- Cover the pot with a lid and cook the rice for 15-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
Make the apple balsamic sauce
The final step in making apple balsamic pork chops rice recipe is to make the sauce.- Transfer the cooked pork chops and apples to a plate and cover them with foil to keep them warm.
- Pour the remaining marinade and juices from the baking dish into a small saucepan.
- Bring the sauce to a boil over medium-high heat and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until it is thick and reduced by half.
- Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
