ANGEL HAIR PASTA WITH GARDEN VEGETABLES

Angel Hair Pasta With Garden Vegetables image

This recipe is such a yummy way to use up odds and ends from the garden! I almost hate to post it b/c it is basically just a pasta primavera, but it is too yummy to not share and there is nothing better than eating a meal that you helped grow :). It is also nice that this takes about as long to make as boiling pasta. Use any pasta (I always use a "plus" variety to get more protein) and feel free to switch up the veggies as your garden or farmers' market provides. This is pretty easy to pare down for solo dining, too. From Light and Tasty.

Chicken: You can use any type of chicken you like, but boneless, skinless chicken breasts are the most popular choice. Thighs can also be used for a richer flavor. 3. Vegetables: A variety of vegetables can be added to your dish, such as bell peppers, zucchini, carrots, broccoli, and mushrooms. The key is to select vegetables that cook evenly and pair well with chicken and pasta. 4. Garlic: Garlic adds flavor and depth to your dish. You can use minced garlic or garlic powder, depending on your preference. 5. Olive Oil: Olive oil is a healthy and delicious alternative to other cooking oils. You will need it to sauté your chicken and vegetables. 6. Butter: Butter adds richness and flavor to your dish. You can use salted or unsalted butter, depending on your preference. 7. Salt and Pepper: Salt and pepper are essential seasonings that will help to enhance the flavor of your dish. Cooking Techniques Now that we have covered the key ingredients you will need for your angel hair pasta with chicken and vegetables recipe, let’s look at some of the cooking techniques you should master to ensure that your dish comes out perfectly. 1. Boiling Your Pasta: Start by boiling a large pot of salted water for your angel hair pasta. Once the water is boiling, add your pasta and cook according to package directions, usually around 3-5 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove the cooked pasta from the water, and reserve a cup of the pasta water for later use. 2. Sautéing Your Chicken: Cut your chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, and cook your chicken until brown on all sides. Use a slotted spoon to remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside. 3. Cooking Your Vegetables: Add your vegetables to the same skillet and cook until they are tender and slightly browned, usually around 5-7 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove the vegetables from the skillet and set them aside. 4. Creating Your Sauce: Add garlic to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Add butter and reserved pasta cooking water to the skillet and cook until the butter is melted and the sauce is slightly thickened. 5. Combining Your Ingredients: Add your cooked pasta, chicken, and vegetables to the skillet and toss until the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce. Serve hot and enjoy! Tips To help you make the perfect angel hair pasta with chicken and vegetables recipe, here are some valuable tips to keep in mind: 1. Seasoning: Be sure to season your chicken and vegetables with salt and pepper before cooking to enhance their flavor. 2. Don’t Overcook Your Pasta: Angel hair pasta cooks quickly, so be sure to keep an eye on it and remove it from the water as soon as it is cooked. 3. Use Pasta Water: Reserve a cup of pasta cooking water to use later in your sauce. The starchy water will help to thicken your sauce and add flavor. 4. Cut Your Vegetables Evenly: Cut your vegetables into bite-sized pieces that are roughly the same size so that they cook evenly. 5. Don’t Overcrowd Your Skillet: Cook your chicken and vegetables in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding your skillet, which can cause the ingredients to steam instead of brown. 6. Add Cheese: If you’re looking for an extra burst of flavor, sprinkle shredded Parmesan cheese over your pasta before serving. 7. Serve With Bread: Serve your angel hair pasta with garlic bread or a side salad for a complete and delicious meal. In Conclusion Angel hair pasta with chicken and vegetables is a versatile and tasty dish that can be easily adapted to suit your tastes and preferences. By following these tips and mastering the key ingredients and cooking techniques, you can create a delicious and satisfying meal that your family and friends will love.
