30 black olives, cut in half
2 teaspoons olive juice
fresh parsley
crushed red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Directions -
  • Cook 1 (13.25 Oz. Pkg.) Angel Hair Pasta according to package directions and drain. About 5 minutes and make sure your water is boiling with a touch of salt and some olive oil so it doesn't stick. And rinse pasta immediately with cool water so it doesn't continue cooking!
  • In a medium saucepot, heat Diced Tomatoes with Basil and Garlic (and liquid), Olives and Olive Liquid, and crushed Red Pepper to taste over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until hot; season with Salt and fresh ground Black Pepper to taste.
  • Place Pasta in a large serving bowl; add Tomato mixture and 1/4 Cup coarsely chopped fresh Parsley. Toss together with tongs and serve immediately garnished with shredded Parmesan Cheese, if desired.
  • Please NOTE -
  • I prefer freshly grated Asiago or a nice blend of Romano and Parmesan. Not Kraft -- And freshly ground black pepper large flakes!
  • Also I use one clove garlic, crushed and my own canned tomatoes and fresh basil. The amount of basil is subjective, as I like a lot! :).

Angel Hair Arrabbiata: A Perfect Combination of Spiciness and Sophistication

Angel Hair Arrabbiata is a fiery, Italian pasta dish that originated in the Lazio region of Italy. It is a classic recipe that exudes a perfect blend of spiciness and sophistication. The recipe is incredibly easy to make, and it can be customized according to your taste preferences. In this article, we’ll provide you with some valuable tips on how to make a heavenly batch of Angel Hair Arrabbiata pasta.
1. Use the Right Ingredients
The key to making a perfect Angel Hair Arrabbiata recipe is to use fresh, high-quality ingredients. Use the freshest tomatoes, garlic, and herbs you can find. It's also crucial to use the right type of pasta. Traditional Angel Hair Arrabbiata requires a thin and delicate pasta known as capellini. However, you can also use spaghetti or linguine for a more substantial texture.
2. Cook Your Pasta to Perfection
When it comes to pasta, cooking it correctly is essential. Overcooked pasta can ruin the taste and texture of your dish. Therefore, always follow the cooking directions on your pasta package. Cook your pasta until it's al dente, which means it's tender but still firm to the bite. Once your pasta is cooked, drain it, and rinse it under cold water to stop the cooking process.
3. Spice Things Up
The Arrabbiata sauce is what gives Angel Hair Arrabbiata its signature spiciness. The sauce is made by sautéing onions and garlic in olive oil and then adding red pepper flakes, tomato sauce, and herbs. You can adjust the spiciness level of your Arrabbiata sauce by adding more or fewer red pepper flakes. However, be careful not to overdo it, or your pasta might become overwhelming to eat.
4. Embrace Fresh Herbs
Fresh herbs add depth and flavor to your Arrabbiata sauce. Basil, oregano, and parsley are traditional herbs used in Italian cooking. Fresh herbs are always better than dried herbs, so we recommend using fresh ones for your Angel Hair Arrabbiata recipe. You can also experiment with other herbs to achieve your desired taste.
5. Experiment with Cheese
Cheese is an optional ingredient in the Angel Hair Arrabbiata recipe. Some people prefer it with grated Parmesan cheese or Pecorino Romano cheese on top, while others prefer no cheese at all. You can also try goat cheese or feta cheese with your Arrabbiata sauce if you're feeling adventurous.
6. Serve with a Side Salad
Angel Hair Arrabbiata is a rich and spicy pasta dish that pairs well with a side salad. A simple green salad with lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes can help balance the flavors of your pasta. You can also add a drizzle of balsamic vinegar or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to your salad for extra zing.
7. Don't Skimp on the Olive Oil
Olive oil is a fundamental ingredient in Italian cooking, and Angel Hair Arrabbiata is no exception. The best olive oil to use is extra virgin olive oil, which has a rich and fruity flavor. Use olive oil generously when sautéing onions and garlic, and drizzle some more over your cooked pasta for a buttery and nutty flavor.
8. Add Some Protein
Angel Hair Arrabbiata is a vegetarian pasta dish, but you can add some protein to make it heartier. Grilled chicken or shrimp are excellent choices. You can also add some chickpeas or cannellini beans to your sauce for a vegetarian protein option.
9. Store Leftovers Properly
If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge. The sauce may thicken when it's cold, so add a little bit of water or chicken broth when reheating. Reheat your pasta in the microwave or on the stovetop, and don't forget to garnish it with fresh herbs and grated cheese before serving.
10. Enjoy Your Pasta
Angel Hair Arrabbiata is best enjoyed with some crusty bread and a glass of red wine. Gather your friends and family, and savor the rich and spicy flavors of your pasta. This dish is perfect for dinner parties or romantic dinners, and it's sure to leave a lasting impression on your guests. In conclusion, Angel Hair Arrabbiata is a classic Italian recipe that's easy to make and customize. Use these valuable tips to make a perfect batch of Angel Hair Arrabbiata pasta that'll impress your friends and family. With the right ingredients, cooking, and spicing, you'll achieve the perfect combination of spiciness and sophistication. Bon appétit!
