Time 48m

Yield 18 brownies, 18 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 (18 1/3 ounce) package fudge brownie mix
2 eggs
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 (14 ounce) bag sweetened flaked coconut
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk (only using 1/2 can)
7 ounces marshmallow cream
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped almonds, toasted if desired

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Spray 9X13X2 pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Prepare Brownies as indicated on the box but add 1 tsp almond extract the same time you add the eggs. Cool. When the brownies are cool, poke holes all over the brownie's surface with a fork. (Keep the oven on).
  • Put the condensed milk into a small medium sized saucepan and bring to a low boil over medium heat. Stir often so it doesn't turn the milk into caramel. Add the marshmallow cream and continue mixing until combined. Add the coconut and mix well. Spoon the coconut mixture over the cooled brownies and put it back in the oven for 8 minutes. Cool. (Turn off oven).
  • In small bowl, melt chocolate chips in the microwave for a minute at a time and mix well. Continue until completely melted. Drizzle over bars. While the chocolate is still soft and unset, scatter almonds over the bars too. Cover lightly and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
  • Cut brownies 3 lines lengthwise with a sharp knife, then 5 lines across. You'll have 18 beautiful almond-joy-ee brownies!
  • Raves all around!

Tips for making the perfect Almond Joy Brownies

1. Use high-quality ingredients:
Almond Joy Brownies are all about the flavor. To make sure that your brownies are rich and decadent, use high-quality ingredients. Choose good quality chocolate, butter, and almonds to get the best taste.
2. Don't overmix:
While it is important to mix the ingredients well, over-mixing the batter can result in tough and dense brownies. To avoid this, mix the ingredients until they are just combined.
3. Toast your coconut and almonds:
Toasting your coconut and almonds beforehand can add extra flavor and crunch to your brownies. Simply spread the shredded coconut and sliced almonds in a single layer on a baking sheet, and toast them in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 5-7 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
4. Add other ingredients of your choice:
You can add other ingredients of your choice to the basic recipe to create variations in the recipe. For example, you can add chopped pecans or diced cherries to the batter to create a new flavor.

So the next time you're looking for a dessert recipe to satisfy your cravings, give Almond Joy Brownies a try. Your taste buds will thank you for it!
Who doesn't love brownies? And when you add some almonds and coconut into the mix, it just takes the deliciousness to a whole new level. Almond joy brownies are a crowd-pleaser and perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and require minimal effort, but the end result is heavenly. In this article, we will discuss some valuable tips that will help you make the perfect almond joy brownies. From choosing the ingredients to the baking process, we will cover everything. So, let's get started.

Tip 1: Choose high-quality ingredients

The first and most important tip is to choose high-quality ingredients. The brownies will only be as good as the ingredients you use. It is essential to choose high-quality cocoa powder, flour, sugar, and other ingredients for the perfect brownie. When it comes to almonds, always go for raw and unsalted almonds. Roasted or salted almonds may alter the taste of the brownies. Similarly, for coconut flakes, use fresh and unsweetened coconut flakes for the best results.

Tip 2: Measure the ingredients accurately

Baking is an exact science, and even a slight variation in the ingredients can have a significant impact on the outcome. It is essential to measure the ingredients accurately to ensure that the brownies turn out perfectly. Use measuring cups and spoons to get the correct measurements for flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and other ingredients. This will ensure that the brownies have the right texture and consistency.

Tip 3: Use parchment paper or a non-stick pan

Nobody likes it when the brownies stick to the pan, ruining all the hard work you put into making them. To prevent this, use parchment paper or a non-stick pan. The parchment paper creates a non-stick surface, making it easier to remove the brownies from the pan. If you are using a non-stick pan, make sure to grease it properly with butter or oil. This will ensure that the brownies come out smoothly from the pan.

Tip 4: Melt the chocolate and butter together

The chocolate and butter are the key ingredients that give the brownies their rich and fudgy texture. It is essential to melt them together to get the ideal consistency. You can melt the chocolate and butter together in a double boiler or microwave. If using a double boiler, fill a small pot with water and bring it to a boil. Place a heat-safe bowl on top of the pot and add the chocolate and butter. Stir until melted and smooth. If using a microwave, place the chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until melted and smooth.

Tip 5: Don't overmix the batter

Overmixing the batter can lead to tough and dense brownies. It is important to mix the batter until just combined. Once you add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mix gently until there are no more lumps. Do not overmix the batter, as this will develop the gluten in the flour, resulting in a tough texture.

Tip 6: Add the almonds and coconut flakes last

Almonds and coconut flakes are the star ingredients of almond joy brownies. It is essential to add them last to ensure that they are evenly distributed throughout the batter. Fold in the almonds and coconut flakes gently using a spatula until they are evenly distributed. Do not overmix the batter after adding the almonds and coconut flakes.

Tip 7: Bake at the right temperature and time

Baking brownies at the right temperature and time is crucial for the perfect outcome. Bake the brownies at 350°F for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Do not overbake the brownies, as this will result in a dry and crumbly texture. It is better to underbake them slightly, as they will continue to cook a little after being removed from the oven.

Tip 8: Let the brownies cool before cutting

It is tempting to cut into the brownies as soon as they are out of the oven, but it is important to resist that temptation. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting them. Cutting the brownies when they are still warm can cause them to crumble and fall apart. Once cooled, remove the brownies from the pan using the parchment paper or by flipping the pan over onto a cutting board. Cut the brownies into desired portions and serve.

Conclusion

Almond joy brownies are a delicious treat that everyone loves. By following these valuable tips, you can make the perfect almond joy brownies every time. From choosing high-quality ingredients to baking at the right temperature and time, every step is crucial. So, get your ingredients ready and start baking. Happy baking!
