Steak is a popular and delicious dish that is enjoyed by many people all over the world. However, cooking the perfect steak can be a challenge. Luckily, air fryers have made it easier to cook steak to perfection. One of the best cuts of steak to cook in an air fryer is a ribeye. A well-cooked ribeye steak is a delight to the taste buds, and it is worth spending some time perfecting the recipe on the air fryer. In this article, we will discuss some valuable tips to consider when making air fryer ribeye steak recipes.

Choosing the Right Cut of Ribeye Steak

The first step in cooking any steak is choosing the right cut of meat. Ribeye steaks are a popular choice for many people as they have a good amount of marbling, which results in a tender, juicy, and flavorful steak. When selecting a ribeye steak for your air fryer recipe, it's essential to choose a well-marbled cut that is about 1 inch thick. A thinner cut will cook too quickly and may end up overcooked or dry. Additionally, you should look for a steak that is uniform in thickness to ensure even cooking.

Seasoning the Ribeye Steak

Seasoning your steak well is critical in achieving a delicious and flavorful steak. Before air frying the ribeye, coat both sides of the steak with a generous amount of salt and black pepper. You can also add other seasonings like garlic powder, onion powder, or dried herbs, but be sure not to overpower the natural flavor of the meat. For best results, let the steak rest at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before placing it in the air fryer. This ensures even cooking and allows the seasoning to penetrate the meat.

Preheating the Air Fryer

Preheating the air fryer is essential for ensuring the ribeye steak is cooked evenly. Set the air fryer to 400°F and let it heat up for about 3-5 minutes. Once preheated, place the seasoned ribeye steak in the air fryer basket, making sure it is not touching the sides. It's essential to give the steak enough room to cook and brown evenly.

Air Frying the Ribeye Steak

When cooking the ribeye in the air fryer, timing is everything. The cooking time will depend on the thickness of the steak and your desired level of doneness. For a 1-inch-thick ribeye steak, air fry it at 400°F for 10-12 minutes for a medium-rare steak. For medium, cook for 12-14 minutes, and for well-done, cook for 16-18 minutes. You can check the internal temperature of the steak using a meat thermometer. For medium-rare, the internal temperature should be around 135°F, for medium, it should be 145°F, and for well-done, it should be 160°F.

Using a Meat Thermometer

Using a meat thermometer is the best way to ensure the ribeye steak is cooked to perfection. An air fryer may cook the steak faster on the outside, but the inside may still be undercooked. Insert the meat thermometer into the thickest part of the steak, avoiding the bone or fat. Once the desired temperature is reached, remove the steak from the air fryer and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before serving. Resting the steak allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a tender and juicy steak.

Adding Finishing Touches

Once the steak is cooked, you can add some finishing touches to enhance its flavor. A dollop of butter, some finely chopped herbs, or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese can add an extra layer of flavor to the already delicious steak. Let the steak rest for at least 5 minutes before adding any toppings to allow the butter to melt and herbs to release their fragrance and flavor.

Cleaning the Air Fryer

After cooking the ribeye steak, it's essential to clean the air fryer properly. Remove the basket and tray and let them cool down. Once cooled, remove any leftover food particles and grease using a sponge or paper towel. You can also clean the basket and tray in the dishwasher if they are dishwasher safe. It's essential to keep the air fryer clean to avoid any unpleasant smells and flavors and extend its lifespan.

Conclusion

Cooking a ribeye steak in an air fryer is an easy and quick way to enjoy a delicious and juicy steak at home. By following these valuable tips, you can cook the perfect ribeye steak in the air fryer every time. Remember to choose the right cut of meat, season it well, preheat the air fryer, use a meat thermometer, and add finishing touches to enhance the flavor. With these tips, you can impress your friends, family, or guests with a perfectly cooked ribeye steak they won't forget.
