Time 25m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole-milk plain Greek yogurt
¼ cup pizza sauce, or as needed
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
16 slices pepperoni
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste
nonstick cooking spray

Steps:

  • Combine flour and yogurt together in a bowl to form a soft dough.
  • Transfer to a lightly floured work surface. Roll out into a large circle, about 1/4 to 1/8 inch thick. Use a cereal bowl (or any other smaller bowl), coat the rim with flour, and press down into the dough to cut out 4 circles.
  • Spread pizza sauce on the bottom half of each circle, leaving about 1/16th inch of rim space. Sprinkle sauce with mozzarella cheese, then top cheese with 4 slices of pepperoni.
  • Fold the top half of the circle over, forming a half circle. Press the edges together to seal. Using the tines of a fork, crimp all the way around the sealed edges of each half circle.
  • Spray each calzone with cooking spray and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Set an air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray air fryer basket with cooking spray. Set calzones into the air fryer basket.
  • Air-fry for 5 minutes, flip calzones, and cook until lightly browned, 4 to 5 minutes. Depending on the size of your air fryer you might need to work in batches.
  • Check calzones for color and air-fry them for few more minutes if necessary. Remove and allow to cool a few minutes before serving.

Time 35m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 6

olive oil cooking spray
1 ½ cups self-rising flour, plus more for kneading
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
½ cup prepared pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup pepperoni

Steps:

  • Mix flour and Greek yogurt together in a bowl; transfer to a work surface floured with self-rising flour. Knead dough, adding more flour as needed to keep dough from being too sticky, 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Preheat an air fryer to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) according to manufacturer's instructions. Spray the bottom of the basket with cooking spray.
  • Divide dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece on a lightly floured work surface into a flat circle, about 1/8-inch thick. Spread 2 tablespoons of the pizza sauce over the bottom half of each dough circle. Top each with 1/4 cup of the mozzarella cheese and a quarter of the pepperoni. Fold dough over filling to form half circles and crimp edges to seal. Coat well with cooking spray.
  • Transfer calzones to the air fryer basket (you might need to work in batches). Cook for 4 minutes, then flip the calzone over and cook until golden brown, 4 to 5 minutes more.

Ingredients

The beauty of Mini Pizza Calzones recipes is that they can be made to taste. However, here are some of the basic ingredients you can consider:
  • Pizza dough
  • Pizza sauce
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Pepperoni, sausage or any toppings of your choice
  • Flour to dust while rolling
  • Oil to brush over the calzones

Instructions

1. Preparing the Dough
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and water until it forms firm dough. Divide the dough into equal parts that you can roll into small circles. Make sure the circles are not too thin, as they will have to hold the fillings.
2. Add Sauce
Spoon a little pizza sauce over each circle, leaving a small margin around the edge to seal.
3. Add Toppings
Add toppings of your choice, such as pepperoni, sausage, onions, peppers, or even a blend of vegetables. Make sure you don't overfill as this will cause the calzone to burst open. Use your discretion.
4. Seal the Calzone
Fold one side of the dough over the toppings to meet the other side of the dough. Pinch the edges shut to seal the calzone completely.
5. Brush with Oil
Brush each calzone with oil. This helps the air fryer evenly cook the calzones that will result in a golden brown texture.
6. Air Fry
Place the calzones in the air fryer basket and cook for 5-7 minutes at 370°F. Keep them apart so they don’t stick together. Once you’ve cooked one batch, take them out, let them cool for a few seconds, then plate your Mini Pizza Calzones for serving. Repeat the process until you have made as many as you need.
