Pretty Good Brownies image

1 2/3 cups granulated sugar
2 sticks (one cup) melted butter
2 Tbsp black coffee
3 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup un-sweetened (Dutch) baking cocoa
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground allspice
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1/2 cup chopped white chocolate chunks
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup old-fashioned (5 minute) rolled oats

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9 inch baking pan, then flour with whole wheat flour.
  • 2. Combine sugar, melted butter and coffee in a large bowl. Stir in eggs and vanilla extract.
  • 3. Combine flour, cocoa, cinnamon, allspice, baking powder and salt. Stir into sugar mixture until well mixed. Stir in chopped nuts, chocolate, cranberries, and rolled oats. Spread into pan.
  • 4. Bake for 18 to 25 minutes.
