Baked macaroni and sausage image

easy to make for church supper. tastes even better the next day I have tried this with ground turkey and with hamburg

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 pound(s) italian sausage
1 - green pepper, chopped
1 - onion, chopped
1 pound(s) can tomatoes
2 cup(s) water
1 can(s) (6oz) tomato paste
- salt and pepper to taste
1 pound(s) elbow macaroni
1/2 pound(s) mozzeralla cheese, shredded
1/2 cup(s) parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Remove sausage from casing, and crumble. In skillet, fry sausage meat until crumbly. add peppers and onions saute for 5 minutes. DO NOT DRAIN.Stir in tomatoes, water and paste. Simmer, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, salt and pepper to taste/
  • Cook macaroni and drain. Layer macaroni and mozzarella in 9 X 13" pan, ending with macaroni. Pour sauce over top and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake at 400*oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
